Patchwork Pebbles Pillow Cover Pattern

$12.00

Scrap projects are some of my faves. I grab my big tin of leftovers, tip it onto the worktable, and rummage through the riot of colour—tiny hand-dyed indigos, sun-bleached creams, lake-blue cottons I can’t bear to toss. Hand-dyeing makes every scrap feel precious, so I challenged myself to use the very smallest piece that still felt useful: a 2 ½″ square. Those little patches became the heartbeat of this design. Joined into a 20″ × 20″ grid of half-square triangles, they shine like riverbed pebbles—adding just enough handmade sparkle to a rocker on the porch, a sofa cushion stack, or a favourite reading nook.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

I always return to hand quilting and natural dyes when I want a project to feel like home. There’s something about that rhythm—needle through cloth, stitch by stitch—that settles the heart. It’s simple enough for a beginner, yet satisfying for seasoned quilters looking for a slow, soulful make. If you’re interested in learning how to hand quilt, click here. Thank you so much for supporting my work. It means the world to me that something I designed might be stitched into your everyday.

With warmth,
Kim
