The Crescent Moon Pot Holder Quilt Pattern

$9.00

Inspired by a crescent moon I admired one night while driving into town to pick my daughter up from her late shift at the mill, this pattern captures that fleeting moment of quiet beauty. I couldn’t stop thinking about how to translate its sharp edges into fabric, and so the Crescent Moon Quilted Potholder was born. (Psst—this pattern is available as a FREE download! Subscribe to my email list here for instant access! It’s my gift to you, free with heartfelt thanks for being part of the Exshaw Quilts family.)

Start your journey with HST’s 8 at a time method, and before you know it, you’ll have a cute potholder to showcase in your kitchen or give as a heartfelt gift.

  • Skill Level: Beginner

  • 100% original pattern

  • Downloadable PDF

  • Design features: 16 half-square triangles arranged in a crescent moon motif

  • Includes instructions for: making HSTs using the 8-at-a-time method

  • Finished potholder size: 6.5” x 6.5”

  • All EQ patterns assume yardage to be 44″ wide and seam allowances to be a 1/4″

  • Learn how to naturally dye your quilt with indigo, click here for the full process and recipe

  • Learn how to hand quilt here

I love the rustic vibes of hand quilted and naturally dyed quilts. It’s something you will see throughout my quilt pattern collection. There is something truly beautiful and timeless about a hand stitched quilt; they are full of texture— something you can not find in a machine quilted piece. They remind me of cozy old farmhouses, American Folk Art and the comfort of a simple life.

All sales final. If you have questions before purchasing, please contact me before ordering. I’m happy to help answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for supporting my work. Creating art and having it showcased in your home is one of my deepest honours.

Happy quilting!
Kim
